Reorder planner
About the reorder planner
The reorder planner is a free inventory planning tool for stores and small warehouses. Enter each SKU's on-hand count, weekly sales, supplier lead time, safety stock, and case pack. It works out days of cover, the reorder point, when each product runs out, and a suggested order quantity rounded up to the case pack, sized to cover lead time, safety stock, and your order cycle. Book an order with one click and receive it when it lands.
Saved in this browser only. The full build counts stock by barcode across every location and pulls sales from your store and marketplaces, so velocity is live. It raises the reorder alert itself, drafts the purchase order at the case pack, and posts landed cost and stock value to QuickBooks.
- Add a SKU with the on-hand count, weekly sales, and lead time
- Set safety stock days and the case pack you order in
- Sort by cover to see what runs out first, then book the suggested order
- Mark the order received when it arrives and the count updates
Questions people ask
How does the reorder planner calculate the reorder point?
Daily sales times the days you'd be waiting: lead time plus safety stock. When on hand plus anything on order falls to that level, it's time to order. The suggested quantity covers lead time, safety stock, and one order cycle, minus what you already have, rounded up to your case pack.
Does the planner track more than one location?
Not this version, which is one count per SKU on one device. The full build tracks stock per location and per warehouse, moves it between them with transfers, and counts it by scanning.
Can the reorder planner place the purchase order for me?
Here, booking an order just records it as on order with a due date. The full build drafts the purchase order at the case pack and receives it against the shipment when it arrives.
